Highly recommend it. Directed by Ivan Reitman (just about every great comedy ever), with Simon Pegg (Shaun of the Dead, Star Trek), Andy Sirkes (Lord of the Rings), Christopher Lee (Lord of the Rings), Tim Curry and a ton of other great actors. Even Ray Harryhousen made a cameo.

I was pretty disappointed with this one, actually. If you want a better movie, try " I Sell the Dead ".

I though it was funny and had that old school caper flick feel. I'll chec out your recommendation though!

I found it to be not funny enough to be a comedy, and not serious enough to be a drama. I couldn't get a grasp on it.
It may be better on a second watch.

I'm upset with myself that I had never heard of this movie. All you had to say was "Ray Harryhousen" and I'd have watched it.

It was just a bit too uneven for me—it felt like it couldn't decide what kind of movie it wanted to be. And it played a bit fast and loose with the actual Burke & Hare story—at least for my tastes.
"I Sell the Dead" was a lot more consistent with its comedy, and was a good deal darker about it as well.
